Download & Install Help
Help with downloading and installing our software.

What are ZIP files?
ZIP files are compressed files, usually containing several files within the single ZIP file. Files which are "zipped" provide an easy means to download or send over the Internet. This is because instead of several files, you only have one, which packages any number of files together. As the single ZIP file is compressed, it is smaller than the sum of all the files contained within it. The ZIP format is a widely accepted standard, and also available on the Macintosh and UNIX.

Windows 98, ME, 2000 and XP understand the ZIP format, though some computers have other ZIP utility software installed (WinZip, PicoZip, or BitZipper, for example). Of course, you should always practice safe downloading and ensure that files are downloaded from a "safe" source. When really in doubt, have a virus checking program on your computer.

Note that all files on the Barefoot Productions web sites are guaranteed to be virus free.

How do I download your software to my computer?
Good question! You are obviously interested in our software and have gotten this far to get it. The information presented here will help you learn what you need to know to get the file (download) on your computer and install the program.

Depending on the type of file you download - either an EXE or ZIP file, there are different steps to take. We offer these two formats to allow customers to choose which type of file they would like.

ZIP file

Download
First you must download the ZIP file to your computer. You may do this a couple of ways, depending on the web browser you are using. Usually you may simply click the appropriate download link from our web page. The file will either start downloading, or you will be prompted to Open or Save the file. If prompted with a dialog that looks like the picture at the bottom of this page, select the Save button to save the file on your local hard drive. The file will proceed to download and a progress bar will show the status of the file download.

Once the file is downloaded to your machine, you will need to unzip the ZIP file to extract all the other files. This can be done, usually by double-clicking the ZIP file to open it. We cannot give exact instructions as it depends on how your computer and ZIP utility are configured.

Install
Once the ZIP file is unzipped, you will find a file named SETUP.EXE. This is the main installer for the software program that you downloaded. Double-click this file to start the installer. The installer will guide you through installing the software on your computer.

EXE file:

Download
When downloading an EXE program file, you have two options: you may either save the file to your hard drive, or have it open after the download completes. Either way, the end result is the same - you must run the EXE that is downloaded to your computer to install the software.
