An expert in Windows application development using C/C++ in Win32 and MFC, Mr. Metzler has been responsible for developing over one-hundred prototype and shipping applications for Windows, including several dozen in the commercial marketplace. Specializing in the design and building of application programs, Mr. Metzler is also a skilled expert in interface design and custom control development.
He has been writing desktop computer application software
since 1980, developing programs on the Atari 800, Atari ST,
Apple II, Apple Macintosh, TRS-80, Coleco Adam, and IBM PCs
in over a dozen languages. Mr. Metzler was a former partner
in Technological Computer Innovations in Lafayette, Colorado with Mr. Walgren,
and also a partner with the MiddlePark Group. He has had several
of his technical and programming articles published in various magazines (PC Magazine, Windows Developer Journal,
and Windows Tech Journal). He is responsible for 95% of the development and coding projects at Barefoot Productions. When not developing software, he is prototyping all sorts of new designs, playing video games, flying airplanes, making sushi and
reading Dean Koontz books. His next interest in life
is getting his helicopter license and owning his own
helicopter. An amateur musician at heart, Mr. Metzler
enjoys playing piano and dabbling with the guitar. Mr. Metzler received his Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from the University of Wisconsin, Whitewater in 1988. He is also a private pilot, amateur sushi chef and lighthouse fanatic.
Some of his claims to fame were being born during the first
Super Bowl and in recent years, being able to perform
on-stage with Blue Man Group at the Luxor in Las Vegas. Oh
- why all the titles above? Well, that's part of the
blessing and curse of being a small company - one gets to
wear many hats.
